Dr. Crystal Bauer is a licensed clinical psychologist in both Illinois and Indiana. She has also been granted the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) in 28 states by the PSYPACT Commission. She has been specializing in the treatment of anxiety, mood and behavioral disorders with patients across the lifespan for nearly a decade. Dr. Bauer utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which is the gold standard of care for anxiety disorders. Specifically, exposures with response prevention (ERP) behavioral activation, behavioral modification, cognitive restructuring, mindfulness and other CBT techniques are employed. She also encourages collaboration from members of an individual’s treatment team (i.e., family, psychiatrists, teachers, etc.).

Upon choosing to participate in treatment at The Anxiety Wellness Center of Chicagoland (AWCC), a 60-minute intake session will be scheduled. Please note that it is not unusual for the assessment to take longer than one session, due to the importance of the clinician to conduct a full assessment. Once the assessment is completed, specific treatment goals will be developed to tailor the remainder of the process to target the specific areas of interference.
